You are invited to submit an application for the district-wide D20 Education Foundation Academic Scholarship, honoring Jeanette and Buddy Van Doren! We will award one $5,000 scholarship and will choose the recipients from seniors throughout the district’s high schools.
Criteria
(established by the Foundation)
- The student must be in a D20 High school (no out-of-district applicants, no charters)
- The student must have a GPA of at least 3.50.
- The student must demonstrate significant involvement in community service.
- The student must demonstrate exemplary leadership.
- The student will be attending a 2 or 4-year accredited American university or college.
- The student must be available for an in-person interview.
- The student must submit a written essay along with the application.
- The student must not have received a full ride scholarship to their chosen university or college.
- The student must not have applied for either of the other D20 Education Foundation scholarships: CTE Scholarship nor the D20 Education Foundation Future Educators Scholarship.
Application
- The student must complete the Scholarship Application and answer the essay question.
- The student must attach two signed letters of recommendation (from non-relatives).
- The student must submit a copy of their high school transcript from Infinite Campus (unofficial is acceptable)
- Only complete applications will be considered.
Timeline
- The application packet is due by Friday, April 12, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. Please submit via MS Teams (using this link: https://forms.office.com/r/LkN0SaPSMX or, if you prefer to submit this packet physically, please deliver the complete application to the District Central Office (EAC) in care of Dr. Jeremy Koselak, 1110 Chapel Hills Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80920 by Friday, April 12, 2024, at 4:00 p.m.
- Finalists will be notified by Friday, April 19, 2024, and interviewed by the D20 Foundation April 24-26, 2024 (between 3:00 and 6:00 pm)
- Winners will be notified by Friday, May 3, 2024.
